One Pillar Pagoda, Hanoi
The old Buddhist temple in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. It is popular Temple,
as one of Vietnam's two most iconic temples.
The temple has construction started from 1028 to 1054 by Emperor Ly Thai Tong.
According the court records, Ly Thai Tong was dream which he met the bodhisattva
Avalokiteshvara who handed his son while seated on a lotus flower. Then Ly Thai Tong
married and his wife bore him a son after that Ly Thai Tong builds this temple similar in his dream.
The temple was located then the Tay Cam Garden in Thach Bao, Vinh Thuan district and this temple
has importance on Buddha-bathing ceremony that was held in every year.
